Making Tomorrow's Leaders

Preschool to Grade 7

About Annadale

Established in 2000, Annadale Schools has served preschool and primary school children in Eswatini for more than twenty-five years. As an English-medium Christian school, we offer an affordable, high-quality and inclusive education in a welcoming, multi-cultural setting. We are a proud member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), which supports us in policy development, Biblical worldview integration and leadership training.

Two campuses, one journey

Our Preschool caters to Foundation through Grade R, children aged two to six, and is conveniently located in Checkers, Mbabane.

Our Primary School serves Grades 1 to 7 and sits on Waterford Hill, Sidwashini, with well-kept gardens that make a serene, clean and nurturing space for learning.

How we teach

We follow Eswatini’s Competency-Based Education (CBE) curriculum, enriched with international content, active learning, and a strong focus on developing critical thinking and literacy skills.

Our Grade 7 students sit the EPC Examination annually. We are committed to empowering young minds and cultivating independent thinkers who can navigate the world with confidence, creativity, and a strong Christian foundation.

Life at Annadale

We strive to nurture well-rounded individuals, with a range of activities catering to every interest.

The Preschool experience

Our Preschool programme gives children a strong academic foundation while developing the whole child (mentally, physically, socially and emotionally), preparing them not only for Grade 1, but for life.

We prepare children for reading and writing early by exposing them to literature, phonetic concepts and sensory activities that ease the hand and mind into writing. We nurture a mathematical mind with practical experience of what numbers mean before introducing abstract concepts, and cover gross and fine motor skills through games and practical activities.

  • The school day runs from 8am to 1pm
  • Aftercare available at E500 per month
  • Homework supervision after school hours
  • External providers currently offer Ballet and Step Sync

Sports & extra-curricular

Activities run seasonally, in line with other ACSI schools, so our Primary students train and compete in the Association of Christian Schools Sports Competitions throughout the year.

Houses & leadership

Every student is assigned a sports house when they join Annadale: Mdzimba, Sibebe or Lubombo. Each term brings inter-house competition. Preschoolers join the same houses, and our Grade 0s compete in the ACSI games against other preschools.

  • Mandatory swimming, with an emphasis on water safety, during class PE time
  • Leadership Skills Training offered as a class subject, as developing Christian leaders is our main focus
  • Hobby Club: environmental awareness and eco gardening, craft, art, needlework, cooking and baking, at minimal cost to cover materials
  • Paid-for activities with external providers: Hip Hop, Tennis, Rugby and Senior Swimming

Uniform & lunchboxes

Our school uniform is available from most local tailors around Mbabane, for example SEDCO, or at the Post Office.
